Introducing Jurassic World: Beyond The Gates – Now Live on Target.com!

Introducing Jurassic World: Beyond The Gates – Now Live on Target.com!

Our friends over at Jurassic Outpost partnered up with Target and Mattel to bring Jurassic World: Beyond The Gates to us fans!

To quote Jurassic Outpost:

Not too long ago Universal began discussions about this unique collaboration, and we hit the ground running to help design a show format that we hope excites you as much as it does us, from the fans for the fans. Our friends at Universal, Mattel, and Target shared our excitement and helped support us every step along the way as we began to play in this expansive Jurassic toybox, creating this little show.

We were given the keys, and a chance to not only to take the Jeep and drive – but to custom design it from the ground up. We worked with a handful of talented artists – including  Lukas Vagt, Matt Henderson and Caleb Burnett – to support hatching the series, and evolve Beyond The Gates from concept to reality. This collaborative process has been a dream, and every party involved has been crucial in bringing this vision to life.

Today (February 17th) the first episode of Beyond the Gates made its debut exclusively on Target.com, with subsequent episodes to follow the third week of every month. Every episode feature your first look at all-new, upcoming Jurassic World reveals – and upon their reveal, they will become available for pre-order directly at Target.com

Universal and ourselves not only want to use Beyond the Gates to share exclusive official content, but also to better inform the fans and collectors what is coming, when it will be available, while giving them a reliable way to secure those items for their collection before those opportunities go extinct. On top of that, we wanted to use this opportunity to let you hear directly from the masterminds who helped design the toys while taking a look at the development and evolution of the items via concept art,  prototypes, and more!

Rolling off that exciting news the first two reveals from Jurassic World: Beyond the Gates was the Amber Collection Tiger Raptor & Pteranodon!

Also on Target’s website they outlined the releases will happen every third Wednesday of the month. Target will start by unveiling three Jurassic World: Legacy Collection items, one Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous item, six Jurassic World: Amber Collection items, and one exclusive Funko Pop Figure.

With that all said, here at Jurassic Report we are ecstatic about this type of news! We love it when our favorite brands reach out to the community and include all of us. We personally see this as a win-win-win, the more the brands interact with us, the more direct feedback we can give, and the more likely it is for us collectors to get items we are hoping for!

Lastly, what do you think these items will be? We are personally hoping for a new Jungle Explorer to add to Mattel’s Jurassic World: Legacy Collection line… but only time will tell!

2021 Mattel Jurassic World Toy Line Checklist

2021 Mattel Jurassic World Toy Line Checklist

UPDATE:
Working with our friends at Collect Jurassic, we’ve updated the list to provide a bit more accuracy on what is being released 2020 vs. 2021.

Exciting news coming from our friends over at JPToys about the future of Mattel’s 2021 Jurassic World toy Line!

Per their community forum some exciting new’s has been uncovered:

Attack Pack replaced by new Wild Pack, upgraded to Savage Strike-style gimmicks.

Savage Strike possibly discontinued–possibly Wild Pack is a merger, expensive Savage Strike gimmicks with cheaper Attack Pack decorations.

Roar Attack replaces Sound Strike.

Massive Biters replaced by similar-size new Mega Breakout with capture gear.

Between the capture gear and the Nostalgia Trip Gallimimus deco, it’s looking like Mattel is really trying to take inspiration from Classic Kenner

Some dinosaurs still listed under codenames at Universal insistence to avoid spoilers.

Pretty exciting news!

We are super excited to see the amount of dinosaurs they have planned that will support both Netflix’s Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, and the upcoming move launch of Universal’s Jurassic World Domination

Another fact we find interesting is the renaming of assortments. For the past few years Mattel has been using the same assortment names, and with this change we wonder what the meaning is behind it. Did they change the name to add more accessories per pack? or is it a simple name change? Only time will tell!

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Snap Squad found in South Australia!

The first four Snap Squad figures for the upcoming Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous line have been spotted in South Australia. These four figures are: Ankylosaurus Bumpy, Carnotaurus Toro, Mosasaurs & Triceratops. Each one of these figures have a metallic paint finish on them. From the photo they look amazing and we can’t wait to have see these in person!

What do you think about this first wave of Snap Squad dinosaurs? Are you excited to add these to your collection?

Camp Cretaceous: Ankylosaurus “Bumpy” Spotted!

Fellow collectors in Australia have spotted the first Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous merchandise out in the wild! Camp Cretaceous is the upcoming Netflix series based on six teens who attend an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar and must band together to survive when dinosaurs wreak havoc on the island.

This is the first merchandise we’ve seen outside of the New York Toy Show. We are personally excited to see one of the main characters, the Ankylosaurus “Bumpy”. Also, from the look of the packaging it appears like he will be part of the Attack Pack assortment.
